The Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD) provides career management education. We inspire, support, and educate students and alumni to develop their full personal and professional potential to participate in the creative economy. Career staff work with students and alumni to know their strengths, choose career paths that utilize their strengths that align with their values, and develop strategies for connection, engagement and commitment.

Rhonda Schaller
Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs
Rhonda oversees the CCPD, Pratt’s well-being initiatives, health promotions and education, strategic planning, assessment and budgets. She is a Fine Artist and Visiting Associate Professor, chairs the Mindfulness Initiatives in Student Affairs committee, and is the founder of the 10-week Meditation Incubator.
Rhonda develops holistic approaches for Pratt Institute within Student Affairs, and specializes in life and career planning through contemplative practices, inquiry and pedagogy.

Alex Fisher
Career Development and Industry Relations Coordinator
Alex helps students and employers connect on campus through Handshake, the CCPD job board.
He organizes curated site visits and on campus recruiting, job and internship postings and curates the Behance portfolios.

Carl Fengler
Associate Director of Career Counseling and Professional Development
Carl is a MISA certified mindfulness teacher and runs the Pratt Manhattan Meditation Incubator. Carl is a motivational coach and works with students and alumni on mock interviews, matching personal strengths to professional strategies.
Carl founded and leads the Ignition Lab, our experiential learning program for aspiring entrepreneurs.

Deborah Yanagisawa
Associate Director of Career Development and Engagement
Deborah is a Certified Life Coach and works with students and alumni on industry networking strategies and life and career plans, with a global perspective.
She is the Fulbright Program Adviser, and works with students and alumni on Fulbright grants, fellowships and residencies .
Deborah specializes in alumni career development, and International student CPT/OPT international student alumni job search and engagement strategies.

Hera Marashian
Associate Director of Career Development and Industry Relations
Hera works with students and alumni to refine their career goals and portfolio development, Hera specializes in helping all students and alumni present their personal brand to the right employers.
Hera is the go to person in the CCPD for Industry trends and and employer relations for recruitment..

Ian Flinn
Student Affairs Coordinator at Pratt Manhattan
Ian works with students on the Pratt Manhattan Campus, helping with resumes, cover letters and career plans. Ian is a MISA certified contemplative practices instructor, and leads the Pratt Manhattan mindfulness drop-in classes.
In addition to his career and professional development role, Ian is the go to person for student clubs, engagement and recruitment events at Pratt Manhattan.

Mackenzie Adriance
Assistant Director of Career Counseling and Experiential Learning
Kenzie is a specialist in experiential education and works with students of all majors to develop their strengths and conducts personality assessments to build out life and career plans.
She works with students on finding and choosing internships, jobs on campus, and developing career plans from first year through graduation.

Sam Harvey
Professional Development Specialist
Sam works with students on basic career skills and career plans.
She works with all students and alumni in preparing graduate school applications, assists with Fulbright applications, fellowships and residencies.
Sam is also the go to person for the Meditation Incubator, and co-chairs the Mindfulness in Student Affairs committee.

Vanessa Chew
Assessment and Information Systems Manager
Vanessa oversees all things data, including our assessment and information systems, survey design, tracking and reporting, and visualizing our student and alumni outcomes.
Vanessa chairs the A-team and mentors staff in data visualization and story telling.
